    Virgin Media - Price rise

Just when I thought I couldn't get any more fed up of them... extra £2 a month for lousy customer service, poor reliability & a V box that occasionally forgets it has the card installed!

Re: Virgin Media - Price rise

this is pathetic... increasing the charges and yet increasing xl customers BB to 30MB, keeping L to silly 10Mb when M gets the same ! Also selling bravo or what ever to sky was the worst mistake, now its been cancelled so no more random ufc :*(

    Flipping VM.

Re: Virgin Media - Price rise

dont see how it can be classed as a increase due to the VAT because well, not all their services have gone up in price! Our bill is around £42 so the 2.5% in VAT should mean it goes to ~ £43.05 but its going to be £45... small price difference but really its still a high jump P/M

They've just released an upgrade for 30mb for £30 broadband which is pretty good for existing customers.

Re: Virgin Media - Price rise

I've just looked on their website today and noticed if I was a new customer I would get the same package for £6 less for the first 6 months and I wouldnt have to pay a set-up fee of the extra £30 for the broadband upgrade. As well as this they would also give me a £60 credit on my first bill. I'll phone tomorrow and post back with my results :-)

Re: Virgin Media - Price rise

I am so angry at them over dicking me around over a recommend a friend bonus myself and my friend didn't receive, and a promise over £25 back to to my internet dropping repeatedly for a period of 2 weeks due to too many customers int he area & the network failing.

Furious doesn't cut it, I am meant to be in £57 worth of credit after a long discussion with them and the promise of the credit being added as I was speaking to them. My bill arrives & have they added any of the credit to my account, have they hell.

That was the 6th time I have rang them to try and get this recommend a friend credit added to mine (and their) account, and the 2nd about my lining dropping.

    I HATE THEM!!

Re: Virgin Media - Price rise

You have no idea how tempting it is, I am equally miffed at BT for putting an exchange so far from my house. Means Virgin or nothing for me, unless I want internet ''up to 512k-1mb'' internet speeds.

    Still hate them.

Might just take a look at that myself then. Am currently on an ancient contact with Pipex, who are charging 25 quid a month for 8meg.... ouch

so with my bt line rental added in I guess I'd get 30 meg rather than 8meg with cable tv thrown in for about the same price I'm paying now...

What's the upstream speed for that 30meg down connection?
