    Netgear Homplugs

I have two Powerline AV 200 devices that have worked, without issue for around 6 months. But for the last week the powerline led (the one that tells the link rate) on the one next to the router has been red or orange, while the one in my room has been green then orange for a while then back to green. Could this be due to the weather (live in an old house), or could it be that more electrical devices are plugged in?

Thinkbroadband speed test gives me 9.4Mbps (although it has given me 4.8 etc a few times) and speedtest.net shows 10.30 Mbps (and only move a few digits up and down)

Does either device feel particularly hot?

Nope just warm and I have just swapped them over, but no change really. The adapter in my room today just changes between green and amber, but again speed tests show now drop. I should add this happened when I first got them, but they both stayed green after 2 days. This current oddness started last Tuesday. Also noticed that my adapter in my room will turn from green to amber, when i say i watch something on iplayer.

bought a pair the other day. expensive but very handy.

IMO if you have done your best to fault find these either work or not.

I'd send them back or tel or email them first, if you can

    Hi Plc fans,
Most probably the poor throughput for your powerline adapters could be caused by your noisy powerline. (Noises in the powerline line can be induced by electrical appliances such as air cond, light dimmer, battery charger be it your mobile phone or laptop charger, vacuum cleaner, hair drier, water heater etc) and also by plugging in your adapter into different phase (3 phase) in your house.
