which wireless router to add to wired network

hi i want to add a wireless router to a home network, but know nothing about networking.

i was thinking this could work http://www.scan.co.uk/products/belki...spi-and-nat-mi?

    heres the current configuration:

talk talk isp > modem > wired router > couple computers and ps3

the new router needs to be connected to the old wired router.

    cheers for any help,

Any of these will do what you're wanting. You don't need another router as you're not adding a new network segment, an access point will be fine.

Or you get a wireless router and replace the modem and wired router with that.

I've used a couple of Edimax units in the past (got an Edimax Access Point at the moment) and they seem pretty good.

give talk talk a ring see if theyll supply you with a wirless router for free, worked for me with virginmedia. then just plug your new wirless router into your modem your old router into the back of your wireless router and away you go

if your other computers are wireless enabled you wont even need your old router, you should just be able to do everything wirelessly

    Why would you do this?

If you are going to to put a wireless router in there, you would completely remove the wired router, you aren't going to want to set up two separate networks are you? If you are going to add a third device to that setup, you would add an Access point which goes after the router.

Why can't you modify the existing setup? I'm curious.
