I have set up a home network using a belkin 'G' router wired to a Virgin cable modem, there is no problems at all with my upstairs desk top wired into the back of the router connecting to the internet, however my laptop after initially picking up the wireless signal and easily accessing the internet now says it cannot find a network to connect to. All the lights are on the router that should be on ie power, internet, wireless, modem, and No 1 port for the desk top and can I pick up a neighbours 'encripted' network on the laptop but not my own everything seems to be working ok except the network, The laptop is one domestic floor down and about fifteen feet from the router which is set on a four foot six inch high cupboard it is four feet and two feet from stud partition walls
facing an open doorway amd there appears to no reason for lack of connectivity, shutting down and
rebooting in the normal manner has no effect I will be very gratefull for any help but can you keep it low tech because I am as thick as two planks thanks
