As broadband is inaccessible to me, I rely on ISDN for my connectivity. Currently, I'm running a single 64k link through a Smoothwall box, which is shared between the household. However, being the die-hard online gamer I am, I've tired of having to compete with them for bandwidth (Playing is out of the question while they're browsing - the lag is nightmarish, especially in Q3).
What I want to do is set up a seperate Smoothwall box and utilize the second 64k line. That way, I use the one box as my own personal gateway, and the rest use the other - everyone has internet, and I don't have to suffer from high pings (Rejoice!). So far so good.
However, I also download large files at night, when everyone is in bed (That ~230MB NFSU2 demo is a recent example). It would be senseless to waste the unused 64k line, so I was wondering if there was some way I could use both connections simultaneously for a certain span of time each day (About 1 through 10am). Of course, I could always add and remove the original smoothwall from the list of availible gateways on my side (Win2K), but that would become annoying after the first 235897235 times or so. It would also need to run automatically, yet be able to be manually turned on and off (Say I want to stop using both at 8am instead of 10).
So, any suggestions on how to go about this? I'm perfectly happy to customize my smoothwall installs (I have a basic level of competency with linux-based systems) so that's not a problem. Thanks.
