if you can't get a static IP you could register with DynDns.org and have your system update that custom address with the dynamic IP.

What sort of area are you in, www.samknows.com will tell you if LLU/Cable is enabled etc.

There are some good deals to be had, and LLU with 512k upload would be ideal for remote access/VPN.

500gb and you can pay via credit card, so if you have one the no dd is not a big issue.

I have been on it about a month now and its superb, support haven't been need much but when they have they have been ok (little slow but ok).

Zen also, up to 8 static IP's.

bit expensive but you get what you pay for in terms of reliabillity and customer service.

Another advantage is that the 1 month minimum term means I can go to 8mb UK online as soon as they unbundle my local exchange.

Zen aren't exactly the most you can get for the least guys - more like the most you can get for the most! Can't knock their service right enough.

PlusNet and Nildram are reliable and would be worth a look. Another option is Hi-Velocity (who I'm with). Cheap, unlimited 1MB with static IP for £23.99, but they are a reseller and nowhere near as big as PlusNet or Nildram.

Also worth noting that you'll see more and more capped ADSL products appearing over the next few months due to the introduction of BT's maxadsl product. One to keep an eye on...
