At those lengths, even half decent Cat5 would probably be fine with 10G. Assuming you have some cables to hand.

Both cards only have SFP+ ports though. So I won't be able to use cat cables will I? I thought Id have to get sfp+ cables with transceivers?

Sorry, I missed that.
You looking at DAC cables?
I've only bought a handul of cables, mainly from 10Gtek on Amazon. I did get a couple of short cables from H!Fiber.com, also on Amazon.
Had no issues with any of them.

Yes I think so. (I'm assuming that is what I need ). 8 miss the simplicity of cat cables with the universal connections í ½í¸‚

The point of SFP+ is that you can choose what you transmit over.
You can get direct copper cables, transceivers for 10GbE RJ45 or fibre.
The optical modules tend to be the path most tread so best supported.
Edit: The DAC cables are pretty cheap though, might be worth trying one.

I've taken a punt on these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...0?ie=UTF8&th=1
Will see how they get on. Amazon have decent returns if it doesn't work.

If they don't work out I recommend cablemonkey, good quality and excellent service and returns if you buy the wrong gear.
They do premade patch cables from 0.5m to 10m too, including fibre ones.

just about to say cablemoneky myself

Having worked on 10Gb and 40Gb networking on high end NAS boxes, there are plenty of ways to nobble the networking. Having said that, we used to just mark unknown network gear as unsupported. If eg a sysadmin has an xfp fail and the only spare they can find in a drawer isn't an approved part for the NAS, they still need to use it to keep their uptime, just should be warned that it isn't a tested/qualified part. To actually deny people access to their data, well that's beyond rude.
Edit: Having said that, when someone has paid the price of a luxury car for their NAS you can be pretty sure they won't skimp on whether the bits they plug into it are approved. As long as you give them a reasonable choice.
Well I may have bought the Synology 10gbe card. However, the 16gb dam I upgraded to most definitely wasn't Synology ram. Nor are my hard drives. They can go and swivel.

So the rubbishHP 700699-B21 Ethernet 561FLR-T Network Adapter (10GBE, 2 Port) does not work on my pc. My computer can't even 'see' it
Any recommendations for a cheap 10gbe card for Windows 10 and my b450f mobo?
Thanks
The Synology worked fine though haha. Turns out that card isn't an SPF+ card. So didn't need that cable. Sods law. Will add it to the spares.
