harrumph -= sometimes BY are trying to be too clever for their own good. fine - supply a wireless router - but don't cripple the firmware to allow only a single machine to connect - and hey... here's a better idea - don't disable NAT while you're at it.
My upstairs neighbour has this issue - firmware has been crippled to prevent me logging in to correct the settings - does anyone know of a workaround? short of getting him to return the kit, and me supplying a new router and wireless card?
You're joking, right? Please? Ye gods, what product of the shallow end of the gene pool came up with that bright idea? If it's a bog stock Netgear, can't you reflash it with the appropriate firmware, after doing a hard reset?

it's a bit crazy that the firmware uploader won't allow me to flash regardless - I might see if there are command line switches to ignore the version string.
total nightmare - it's a bit pointless that it's just never going to work as expected.
Can't you send it back to them and ask for a working one? What's the point of paying for a service and them limiting that service, forcing you to pay extra to get a working router?
unfortunately not - it's working as designed, single user, no nat.
