Just got a letter from Wanadoo...

Warning me about excessive bandwidth usage...

so Im on the lookout for a new isp

Any suggestions? Im paying 27 quid at the moment, how much/long does it cost to change broadband isp? How is it done.

BTW I want a 1Mb connection (as I have at the moment)

Ive seen Nildram and Pipex mentioned, what are these guys like?

    thanks for help

Well I'm with Blueyonder, on their 1mb service.. And I would recommend it! They are pretty reliable, and reasonably priced.. They have NO caps with good speeds.. And have a pretty good Customer Service Dept..

At the min, I think they have an offer of something like 19.99 for first 6months and £25 thereafter..Worth a look.

Freedom2surf here - no complaints as yet. £22.50 for 512K but static IP and no cap.

Could probably find cheaper elsewhere I guess - was best deal at the time.

Nildrams cap on its Broadband2 product is 50gb and its midnight till 8am unlimited bandwith, you also get roll over allowance of upto 75gb. So if you dont use full 50gb in the 1 month you get 75gb the next. Id class myself as a pretty heavy user, and i struggle to get near 50gb.

Bulldog for a pound more than you pay now you can get 4 Mb ADSL with no caps.

The downside is that you need to switch your phone to them as well as its local-loop unbundled.

And that 4mb service is quite limited at the moment. I really want it as I'm already with Bulldog and should just be able to switch over, but I can't get it yet.

    Bump!

I just got a leeter from Freeserve /Wanadoo about excess ive usage too...

They say that I am exceeding the fair usage allowance of 40GB per month. They say that for the past few months my usage hase been 130GB per month - and thats on a 512/256 connection.

Time to Check out the above ISPs.,I think.

130GB per month!!! That's insane, and surely can't be all legal downloads...
