    Networking lots of gear

When we move to vancouver I am thinking of setting up a nice home network consisting of my main pc, a laptop for the Mrs and a media centre PC for recording TV and playing Divx movies. I have also seen a Hi-Fi with wifi from Phillips and a LCD tv and these would also both be nice to use. How would you guys setup this kind of network?

A nice network switch and lots of cat5 cabling. For wifi; a good 54 or 108MB access point, wired into the switch.

so I will definately need lots of CAT 5 cable then. I would prefer to just have a completely wireless network, speaker cables annoy me enough.

What about one of the MIMO wireless things going to be a bit more expensive right now
but better range higher bandwidth type bollocks. I would have at least one cabled machine for gaming and online buying.

its that pre n wireless thing. They havent decided on the standard yet but some of the companies are releasing early so it wont be compatible with other makes probably.

Easy, get a good wireless router (cable/adsl) then PCI/PMCIA cards in all machines except you main rig which is wired directly into the router. Done.
