    Wag54g + Adsl

    Hi guys and gals..

Just got the above router and set it up. I'm using one PC connected to it using a network cable, and my Powerbook connecting via wireless.

Anyhoo, I've managed to set it all up, both machines have got access to the net, my ping and download speeds are the same as before using the USB modem.

However, I have one problem. I can't access a few sites which I previously had no problem accessing. No matter which machine/browser I use, I can't visit eBay, OcUK, Microsoft. Other sites such as Hexus, Multimap, Coupe-Club etc are fine.

Any idea why this might be?

Check no content filtering is enabled on the router. Failing that, it sounds like a DNS problem to me.

Went back to the USB modem and all's well, so I can only assume it's a faulty router. Got a replacement on the way which should arrive tomorrow. I'll try that and let you all know

OK, now I'm confused. New router, everything works.... apart from eBay.

Can't even pull up the front page, let along log in. Tried it on my Powerbook and my own PC. Neither work.

Tried setting up a direct DMZ, still no luck.

Went back to the USB modem - worked perfectly.

Just wondering what revision of firmware you have ???

Not that should make any difference mind you - saying that one of the comments in the downloads section mentions that Ebay was a problem before applying this firmware and now with .47 its all ok.

    I had a 1.00.19 revision but now I am on 1.00.47

Been using it for a few days now. The web interface for the router is a lot lot quicker.
Wireless seems to be improved in terms of signal.

No problems with my work VPN.

    Link below :-

    http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.p...ownload&cid=62

Have to be registered to use it tho'

NB Don't think this is an official release as I can't find it on the Linksys FTP site.

    Will check later and add

Found the problem - a windows MTU setting was stopping things working properly. Followed the advice on www.kitz.co.uk and the tweaking guide, adjusted my RWIN and MTU values and all's good now.

Hence I was asking about ISP - AOL needs to be set 1400 MTU.

The default is 1492 for these routers.

What was your MTU set to ?

Can still advise on updating firmware tho'
