DECT phone and wireless network

I want to get a wireless network but I have heard that cordless phones can interfere with them. Is this true? The cordless phone is a BT Studio 500 DECT, will this affect the wireless network (I would be connecting computers upstairs in my house, whereas the phone is downstairs)?

We have a DECT phone (or three to be exact) here and on wireless.

No interference. Shouldn't be with normal set up, DECT is 2.4GHz and Wireless is 2.44Ghz IIRC

mine is sitting less than two foot away fromthe router i have a rock solid connection when the phones off or on.

most routers will let you set you channel e.g 1-11

using Bt dect phones and never had a problem

Have 3 wireless networks in the house (don't ask!) and have never noticed a problem with the 4 DECT phones we also have.
