I`m a couple klicks off an Easynet exchange but I`m sticking with Telewest.
Less hassle, less users (8 on my subnet), low latency and £35 a month for 10Megs and some overhead allowance, with no caps and little interference.

I think that will be in Minehead in about oh I'd say 2056? We can only still get 2Mb
Says Jan 2006 for me
Though, I cant wait to get away from NTHell..
BTW, anyone know what distance you need to be within to recieve max BW?
/me pulls out the measuring tape
Congratulations.
The power of Be is yours to command.
Good news! We are currently expecting to enable your exchange in Feb-2006
bah !!!
oh dear
Not servicing your area yet
is the message I get...maybe I should shout...I mean speak to their helpline?
mines dated for NOV 2005 But i live around 2km+ away from the exchange (BT can only supply me with 1mbit) the funny thing is theres another exchange located less than 500m away from my house???!! bit b£$%cks really... so i guess i'll only get 2-8mbits then (but for £20 per month i can't complain).
Anyway my friend in thamesmead, london is having his one setup at the beginning of oct (confirmed) i'll see how he gets along and report back.
BeThere have now changed their prices to £24/month (£28/month for fixed IP address)... still, if you want a really decent speed and unlimited bandwidth...
Mines already ordered and should be running for November.
I'm gonna be a lucky one as my line length is very short and of a high quality, so fingers crossed I'll be getting the full 24 Mb to play with.
As soon as its running - speed tests and tracerts will be reported back
yeah be sure to let us know .. if it's good I'll get it.. if you rant.. then I'll stay away.. hehe.Originally Posted by WildmonkeyUK
Is it contracted? .. only at this house for another 8months ish.. so not much point if it is.
We cannot choose what we are.. but what are we but the sum of our choices?
early spring for me it says.
unfortunatly im with tiscali too, bah, perhaps i will go troll their forums too...
anyone else coming?
i've got a friend of mine on it, should be installed within 4 weeks now i think. I'll let you know what its like, going to mean i'll be spending a lot more time at hers thou!s
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
gotta say this is kinda like one of those 56k things, you wont really have a chance of getting over 22 mbps no matter how close you are. Still, 22 megabits per second, thats faster then most user's hard drive transfer rates (3-5 years ago)
hehe.
Don't forget that once you sign your line away to them your stuck with them until they want to let you go...its LLU based as far as I know, and theres no reason to suspect that they are going to be any better than UKOnline (easynet) or bulldog at removing their equipment from your line when you want them too..and if they dont you cant get another interenet connection until they do.
Maybe i'm just biased because we had a terrible experience with UKOnline's customer service, quality of service and trying to cancel with them (within the first month).. ./hates LLU ;/
Does anyone know if this service has a minimum contract period?
12 months iirc no1sdn
Yo may be able to pay BT to fix that, for cash, if you really wanted to (i actually have no idea, just a thought)Originally Posted by zawer612
