    Anyone here using satalite broadband?

Need to plug the gap until BT can provide me with ADSL (im too far from the exchange, even though it's enabled) or when WiMAX (long distance wireless broadband) rolls out, i need a better connection.

At the moment, the only real option out here is satalite (you can get it fairly cheep now).

So what are peoples experiences? What company/package do you have? Full duplex or dialup upstream?

It's useless if your thinking of gaming for starters... Dunno if whats available has changed since I looked at it last but it was overpriced a year or two ago certainly (especially as almost all of the services were capped anyway). If you had line of site to a friend living close enough to the exchange you could share their connection via wireless... Once suitably equipped with high gain antenna's etc... Thats down to your local geography and if you know anyone who is prepared to loan you some of their bandwidth tho!!!

I know gaming is usless with sat broadband and sharing is out of the question. It's dial up or satalite until WinMAX comes.
