Yes it would work.
Make sure you add encription to teh wireless network though, and just to reasure you, they use 3com networking where I work, and they are apparently very good. (They would not let me have one of there spare switches though )

better still, once the Router recognises that USB dongle, he can use it in other PC's (XP has the drivers built in) and not have to fiddle with connectivity on the router, as it wil recognise the device.
