Nope, unless you're intending to do some heavy-duty media streaming on your home lan or need the extra bandwidth for other reasons. For everyday broadband/surfing/gaming use, 802.11g is sufficient IMHO.
My interest in MIMO is that the office where the Router is located is at one end of the house and surrounded by external walls. I want a reliable wireless connection on a laptop upstairs and thought that a MIMO router would solve any wireless range problems.
Will MIMO improve signal strength or is it not worth it? They are double the price of a 54G ADSL router after all...
I personally find a noticeable increase in range with the Belkin Pre-N Router I have, as opposed to the DLink router I have elsewhere in the house.
What kind of distance are we talking about for your range?
Depends what you're going to be using the connection for also.
If its simply for browsing the web, then you can always drop the speed of the wireless connection down to say 2mbps.
