My Voyager 205 is rubbish for cooling, I've tried a few ways of cooling it and have settled on 2 aluminium blocks sitting on it to attract the hear away - they get really hot (sore to touch occasionally), but if I take them off and touch the router its a fine temperature

The reason the asus router I have was so warm is that it's under the desk, tangled in all the network cables and other cables running there as well
I should really tidy up under there, but I'm constantly messing with the network & connections and fiddling with my systems so I cannot be bothered.
I can try to get some images of the cooling later, that's if I can find a camera as I'm digital camera-less at the moment ( Don't ask - I got rid of the T1 ages ago and thinking of getting the new alpha-1 now )
So it seems like the majority of you get relatively cool ones :/ Thing is, to the USB question that someone asked, this is one of the Thompson Speedtouch routers which has a million connections at the back including a USB one, but I use the ethernet and wireless. I also found out my exchange is under work, from the Be* forums, which explains why the internet is down for several hours on some days.
So really the modem is fine, its just trying to help out with the household heating. During summer. : (
Decent equipment shouldn't get hot.. Well not "scorching to touch"..

Always hot to the touch but never roasting! I would consider moving is if it was getting too hot, luckily its in a room that doesn't get much sun which helps especially in this weather.
I'm using a BE router and it's hot to the touch all the time. One day though I had to turn it off because it felt too hot. I have two of them though as they forgot to collect the other one when I moved accounts and houses.
