Are you near your exchange? I can only get 5Mb max anyway.

Did you have to pay more? How much was it originally??

Cable isn't really dependant on distance from exchange.

    Nice, that some serious speed.

Robert is correct, distanc from exchange shouldnt really come into it. However congestion can cause slowdown although cable has a much higher throughput than DSL so if its 5MB/s all the time then you might want to look into it.

I wouldnt be surprised if they have done this just to shut Sky up with their 16MB ADSL2.

Some people are reporting that their speeds are reaching 20MBit down / 786 up. They are apparent intermittant speeds. It has been suggested that Telewest are testing the system and that they may be trying to gauge the usage on a line that has increased speed but without users specifically realising.

Areas being tested are apparently in the North-West, with confirmed reports from Wigan, Preston, Leyland and Chorley.

iirc, telewest said a while back that they were going to go to 20mbps before going higher, they are testing 100mbps right now, so they might go 20 (so they can say we doubled speed) then to 50mbps and then to 100mbps.

lets hope they remember to make the upstream higher, i would hate to have 100mbps down and 2mbps up!

I second that vote for NTL offering the same speed (at the same price as their 10mb of course).
