Is it me or is blueyonder being dead slow

    Hey Guys,

I was "trying" to use the net last night to stream some stuff and play some games later on in the night but my net was only hitting 0.4Mb instead of its usual 2Mb. Now i know that its rare your ever get 2Mb, i usually get between 1.5-1.7Mb but this week its been getting worse.

I couldn't do anything last night at that speed. Was anyone else experiencing this last night in the Liverpool / north west area? I'm thinking of contacting Blueyonder to see if there are any issues with my line if not.

Telewest have been "experimenting" with traffic shaping in the North West. They've been doing this for a while, but have only recently coughed to it. If it's impacting you, call and have a good bitch at them.

they are a pain in the arse

what they are doing is killing peoples bandwith, people who notice and phone get their bandwith back (for the day) and the people who either haven't noticed or are not on are not getting what they are paying for. They are hoping that the poor bugger who pays £35 a months for his 10mb/s line will not notice its running at 1mb/s and therefore save telewest money as they don't have to provide the service they are paid for.

Its out of order and I am fed up phoning and talking to some idiot on 1st line. I shouldn't have to spend 30 minutes every week on the phone complaining of 100+ms pings to the bbc website and 0.3mb/s from my 4 meg line.

I pay for 4mb sec and thats what I expect to have, its like having a hotel room that when your out of the hotel some one else uses and as soon as you come back and complain there are people in your room they move them on.

Its not right and I am sure its against the law.

Im in the Fife area, and telewest connection has been really poor over the past 3 months, from heavy packet loss, high pings and very slow download speeds. After phoning almost every day for 2 weeks i started writting to the head office, they got back in touch with myself and said that they are on the case and that i should expect a call from customer support.

Ten days past i heard nothing from them so i wrote another letter, which im still awaiting a written reply from, but from Friday the 1st of December my connection has been back to normal, im getting a solid 10mb download speed and zero packet loss, on my fav Counter Strike server my ping is 25! I do hope going by this its resolved, im just waiting for them to get in contact with me now.

I made a thread on OCuk forum about this turns out i wasnt the only one with problems in the fife area, looks like it was nation wide.

5 days past and my connection is perfect! *fingers crossed*
