Just be careful with the 2800 series Draytek routers. There are *some* complaints on the Draytek forums about their performance on long and noisy ADSL lines. I have one and I feel it could do better but it still outperforms other routers i've tried on my line (which probably isn't very good).

Other than that I simply cannot fault the 2800-Series routers. The wireless performance (with upgraded antennae) is remarkable.

What would you recommend as a antennae upgrade? My 2800V is a bit pants at times with my centrino lappy

I replaced the stock antennae on my 2800G with two of these:

    http://www.dsl-warehouse.co.uk/product.asp?pr=VIGOR5DBI

These are Draytek hi-gain antennae that are suitable for all the 2800-Series Draytek routers (to the best of my knowledge).

My router is around 6 metres away from my PC and there are two walls in the way. I get a 108Mb/S 'Excellent' signal strength connection to the 2800G using these two antennae.

With the stock 2800G antennae I get, at best, a 'good' signal that usually drops to 54Mb/S.

Highly recommended. By the way, the WiFi card on my PC also has an external desktop antenna to improve the signal.

Is the 2700VG worth getting instead of the 2800?

Fancy having voice there as an option and they seem to look great and do the job. Only have 3-4 PC's (1-2 wireless) and a 360 (wired)

Poor guy - he has listed them too cheap They normally go for around £150 in the shops - and thus these are half price!

I bought something else on eBay last night which was also half the price and brand new
