I've found that if we leave the nappy off for a good 5-10 mins when changing, it allows the air to get around and this seems to help with nappy rash as Hayden has not really been plagued by this issue.
I find that Huggies are terrible nappies

There was a white tub with a purple lid we used to get a Boots, worked a treat - really cool to the touch that stuff.
Better to use olive oil....or some sort of baby oil..

Bepanthen, the mess from Metanium is amazing like yellow oil paint everywhere!
If it looks like it's getting sore then Timodine, possibly Canesten-HC(?) for signs of thrush - we used in combo with Bepanthen (ie a layer of timodine or canesten then bepanthen over the top).
