    Yes.

I was also the disciplinarian, so feel quite proud that I have 2 of the best young adults you could ever have the pleasure to meet.

Absolutely. To the extent that I feel bad because I can't lactate!

Yeah - I was hands-on to the point of sometimes being a bit too self-righteous about it at times!

When I mentioned that the Mrs was going out one night: "Ooh, so are you baby sitting then?". "No. I'm looking after my son."

"What nappies does she use for the baby?" "WE use Pampers on him"

That sort of thing, plus a lot of other baby-related things that were (unnecessarily) mother-specific

Plus there was the general frustration that people were surprised that a 22 year old man knew what he was doing. "DUUUUH, WHICH END DO I PUT THE BOTTLE IN?!?!"

Thats what my wife and i did, in the pitiful 2 weeks of paternity leave that i got i did absolutely everything for our little boy (Barr the feeding!). Had to give the wife a crash course in changing nappies and bathing before i went back to work! But then due to my changing job and it not working out, she went back to work instead of me! Been a full time dad for 2 years now!

    Hands on being:
    - Nappy changes. << Used to do them all (Potty training FTW!)
    - Bathing. << Every time!
    - Feeding. << Not before 6 months, but all the time after.
    - Settling when upset. << Every time!
    - Putting them down to sleep. << Every time!
    - Anything else you can think of. << Most things!

I enjoy spending time with the boy more than anyone else!

Dak was more hands on with our second baby. He did nappies, bathing etc. and the occassional feed with first born, by the time number two came he was doing all night feeding at the weekend so I could sleep . He was a young dad - I think it's more to do with confidence than age.

Re: Are/were you a hands on father?

Very much hands on, in fact if I was not I'd see myself being devoiced very fast
Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

Re: Are/were you a hands on father?

I like to think I'm pretty hands on with Hayden during the time I spend with her at home.

The only thing I resent is being a damn heavy sleeper. When I go bed from say 2 am until 6-8 am I sleep in such a heavy sleep that no noise at all can awaken me from my coma-like sleep (with my eyes 1/2 open) and to be woken usually takes some major physical shaking from someone which is why people like Nick can play stack the cats or throw other things on me without any movement from me at all.
