    Clarks shoes

Has anyone else noticed that Clarks shoes are becoming a bit less robust? We've had our son in them for pretty much all his walking life, and whilst they've been OK for most of the time (apart from one incident with the shoes that have toys inside the heel) his latest pair of school shoes seem to have worn down a bit more quickly than usual.

This just a one-off, or are they going downhill?

How quickly? Our two year old had a pair where the support in the backs went within a few weeks. They replaced them no quibbles.

No to be honest. They're the only show brand my youngest doesn't destroy in a matter of weeks.

    Re: Clarks shoes

I still wear the flippin' things (obviously they don't have flashing lights and lightening bolts on them) because they're comfortable and last a long time - plus there's a Clarks outlet store in Street which isn't too far away.

By my observation they haven't gone down in quality.

Perhaps the young'un is just being a bit aggressive with his feet right now?

    Re: Clarks shoes

We've always put our son in Clarks shoes, and I haven't noticed any difference in quality. Given how slow his feet grow, he's the only kid I know who's managed to wear a pair out, but that was a lot of wear and tear!

    Re: Clarks shoes

Been a few weeks since we got them - maybe he is just being a bit rough with them then... possibly take them back to the shop and see what they say.

Let's hope no one's been counterfeiting them

    Re: Clarks shoes

I got a pair about 2 years ago because I didn't have any 'dress' shoes - I went through the soles in about 3 months Not good. Don't know about the little ones atm as Faye isn't actually walking yet.

    Re: Clarks shoes

We got a new pair of shoes from Clarks for my 4 year old son about Sept / Oct last year.

He has destoyed them in a matter of months, to the extend of them having holes in the sole that let in water .... bit shocking considering these werent his school shoes and normal only wore them at weekends etc.

I have to defend Clarks here - my son had some shoes which lasted him 18 months until he completely outgrew them. The condition was still surprisingly good so unless we are talking about some bad batches, Clarks remain reliable.

    Re: Clarks shoes

I have a couple of pairs of Clarks shoes, one for formal occasions, one for work. Good shoes. Haven't fallen apart. The work ones are still in very good shape and I've had them a couple of years now.

    Re: Clarks shoes

It depends, our 2 boys clarks are fine but my daughters get damaged easy and the last pair I got myself got damaged very easy
Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

My daughters new purple shoes have 3 flashing hearts in the outer sole area of the shoes.

At least we can see her in the dark now

    Re: Clarks shoes

    Spammer ahoy?

On the original point, we find Clarks very good; our daughter is pretty energetic and we haven't had a pair fail before she's outgrown them.

I had a pair of those! Loved 'em. Shame I had to get rid of them. Something about "23 is too old to be wearing kids shoes".
