bigger hdd = more power?

thinking in terms of laptop; does a larger hdd consume more power than a smaller one? got a couple of options available - 160gb or 120gb...more is often better, does this hold true for notebook hdd's?

Naw, hard drive power usage is roughly about the same, most of the energy expelled is via the motor, especially during spinups.

should be the same. if you are comparing two drive from different manufacturers or different series of drives there there is going to be a little difference.

But a 100 Gb Fujitsu MHV2100AH vs 120 Gb Fujitsu MHV2120AH should be exactly the same.

2.5" drives should all be under 500mA anyway
