Sell it whole, Sell it in bits... what to do???

My old No1 rig has reached the end of the line, for me anyway. The old girl (See My System under avatar) is going, so the question is, sell it as parts, or sell it whole?

Getting me some Intel quad core goodness

Machines rarely sell whole now, people just want to cherry pick the parts. Splitting is generally simpler too, as posting a whole tower is a pain. Plus you can re-use bits like the raptors if you split.

I would sell the motherboard, cpu and ram as a bundle and split the rest

Tempted to keep the case, lovely metallic black Coolermaster. Still pretty nippy despite it's age & being a s940 Opteron with ECC ram, it's as solid as a solid thing 24/7.

How much would you want for the system OiD ? I might know someone who is actually after a complete setup

Sell in bits, Keep what you can re-use.
I'd probably buy a couple bits from that system but i certainly wouldn't buy it as a whole.

Well when I build its replacement Moby & Tiggs have first dibs. I have other odds & sods too, another s940 opti & a gig of ECC PC3200.

I hate working out prices, but mates rates will apply to you two of course. Will keep you posted.

I'd be interested in the HDD's but i dont think anything else.
I'm sure someone would want those bits, but break it and sell it on eBay or something.
