After trying everything, including a new E6300, the problem still exists.
I don't have a dedicated PSU tester, but used a multi-meter to check the PSU and the only reading I got was for about 2.97V which doesn't tally with what should be coming out of the PSU.
I am suspicious of my mobo as well, so have RMA'd both the PSU and mobo
You've been unlucky there mate, although it probably wasn't both the PSU and motherboard, I hope that you get it working ASAP.
Thanks. In my short time as a system builder I've learnt a lot though so I certainly don't regret anything. AS mentioned in another thread I'll be posting more detail on my experiences so other people can learn from my wisdom/mis-fortune/mis-selection/mistakes
Bad luck indeed, glad to see you have not been put off, you will probably find most pc enthusiasts have been in this postion early on, which in my case lead to a spare board, then ram, then a hard drive/card/ etc etc which in turn leads to, well I have all this stuff just lying there might as well fire it up and get it working. Then you start collecting spares for the spares...........lol
