firewire enclosure problem? or hard drive

im getting a weird issue with my nSpire firewire enclosure which is for 3.5" drives and has its own power supply.

ive had it for a few months but now it randomly shuts off and back on after 20 seconds, randomly and quite frequently.
(there is only one light on the enclosure and it blinks when transfering data)

so im assuming its the power supply of the enclosure?
but since im not sure, could it be the drive causing it?

    Could be either i suppose.

Do you have any other kind of enclose to dry the drive in, or indeed another drive to try in the enclosure?

Open it up, and use the drive internally on your PC to test it. It will likely be ok.

Then just buy a new enclosure. Tuppence on ebay these days.

Or if it is still under warranty - send it back.
