£200 for 3.2, £170 for 3Ghz, 2.8 for £140, cheaper than p4 now, 3.4Ghz p4 and prescott are £310, yes, INtel are price matching Ath 64's. AFAIK they've not had to , and not been intimidated into doing that and i've not seen a new intel chip come out that cheap.

yep ,was release yesterday, available on asetek home page, it was launched at 99 euros, £66ish, but does socket 754/940 and will be 939 and does p4 socket too. Also looks far better and easier to install, apparently gives better contact, slightly better temps too.

Although on asetek site it says 99 euros it sells for 145 euros on their site

So you'll probo have to wait for chillblast/ocuk to stock them to not get a ridiculous price. But don't feel down yet, US guys wanting to get it now, with a very weak exchange rate will cost them $183 dollars delivered even though its supposed to be $109 in the states.

serlex, looks like it will be marginally faster, i think them being worth an upgrade will be down to if your current cpu clocks well and if the prescotts clock well, which they could easily not. Remember t-bred a's, first chips on new process aren't always very scalable, clockable and cool. Wait till end of month and plenty of people should have them and word on clockability will be out.

cool, well i said many times in hexus, i will wait for better prices and products. i got £500 max to spend on a new system. and the mobo and cpu is the most important parts.
    im thinking of athlon 64 3200+ or pentium 4 2.8ghz (800)
but if prescott is better than amd in both price and quality, i will get prescott.
what do you i should do with £500

I am saving, but I have to save for my own place!

Maybe when I have my own place, I'll be able to save up a little to afford some nice gear...
