Still on a P4 Northwood here (2.8GHz). Hopefully that will change this autumn...

I'm normally a couple of years behind on games anyway (unless they're multiplayer ones) so I haven't needed cutting edge quite yet. I buy them on sale and never get around to playing them lol. Still haven't touched COD2, Quake 4, FEAR....

    Ah the good old Celery.

Still got a BP6 with a pair of 433MHz chips kicking around in a cupboard somewhere.

Hmm whoops, think I may have voted the wrong one . The A64 3200+ (2GHz, Clawhammer), /w single channel memory controller is 754 isn't it, not 939... Mybad .

Upstairs I have a Socket 7 (i think?) AMD 266MHz CPU, which is strange because I still have the motherboard manual and for supported CPUs it says Intel up to 200MHz and no mention of AMD (this was a compy my family bought long long ago, from uuh..edit: Hi-grade was the name). Another strange thing is, when I dissected it, to my amusement 2 pins are bent and have never plugged into the socket, yet the comp still worked/works fine, albeit a little slowly.

Also I think you'll find this funny: When we bought the computer, I was just as clueless about computers as my parents -- and we didn't buy one of the PCs in the magazine that said on the screen "Intel Inside" because we thought that was internet, and we didn't want it back then.

The vast majority are either 939 or Core2Duo, and from those that have a 939 it is often because it was the best to get at the time, and they are planning to get a Core2Duo soon...

AMD 2200+ - feel that performance! Does a G3 500Mhz count as well?

Soon to be an E6600 I suspect, I may feel the difference...
