Well from what i said , i'm on a 120mm rad ......for sure its the limit for the quad but don't let water inside your pc put you off it works and its reasonbly easy

What's the ballpark cost - roughly - for w/c set-up like that...? I would probably just do the CPU if I did (and it's a big if) rather than the card (which works pretty well, ambients in the low 40s and the highest I've ever seen it on load thus far is high 60s.)
I know the TJ09's got a couple of 'plugged' holes for water lines so presumably it shouldn't be beyond the wit of man (me!)
you a 680i user ?
Yes I am - I've got the original (buggy) EVGA 122-CK-NF68 board.
(My 500th post! Woo! )
LOL oki for you i'd recommend what i posted before , my specs , its a good start on water cooling , brought that over from AMD overclocking
For a basic cpu cooling system , i reckon 100 quid will get you there
Its easy enough if you take your time, and dont buy cheapo bits
All prices are ish.
£40 cpu block
Rad up to £55 ish
Pump - £30-£80 somewhere in between is fine, in fact the £30 d-tek works great but doesnt have very much power.
Reservoir £10-£20 ish depending which type/model.
Tubing £10 ish
Clamps £2 ish
Water £1.50 ish
Zerex £3 ish
Dye - optional £3-£4 ish.
GPU block varies, depending on type and what GPU you have, but anything from £30 ish to £70 ish for a full cover block.
Okay, cheers lads.. Going to sleep/ponder on this some more, I think... it still feels like an expensive option and water + pc does scare me! But I'll definitely think it over..
If you want cheaper, buy used, for some reason, watercooling bits dont fetch much second hand, so there are some bargains to be had.

Not exactly great. I'm with pollaxe in that I don't quite want to go the watercooling route just yet
Sorry to be annoying but I want an air cooler that is as quiet as possible on the Q6600, I will not be overclocking it (or not by much at all). The hexus review has left me with a shortlist of:
Scythe Miné
Zalman 9700
Thermaltake Big Typ VX
I used the 9700 on another machine I built and it is a nice cooler but was just wondering what the other options were. Also the G0 cores of this processor are better for overclocking right? As far as I can tell, the other types (B3...) are also overclockable, just not as much. Is that a correct interpretation?
Thanks
Currently streesing with 2x Orthos, Idle around 40c mark and loading round the 60c mark, cooling isnt a problem, and thats all at 3.2ghz @ 3.25v and 360x9 with my quad gt. Had to bump up the mch to 1.40v aswell.
3.25v eh? thats some cooling you have there mate
Well its no that much might go phase next time, reads 1.30v in everest so some more tweaking later.
3.25v?
Ive added your stuff to the first post mate cheers
Is no-one recommending a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P?
I got one for £80, £60 cheaper than the P5K-D I was looking at, and by all accounts a good overclocker, and no sata/heat problems.
Also gave up on waiting for the G0 as it looks to be several weeks before they'll get into retail.
