    What PSU? (yet another...)

I'm currently on the lookout for a quiet PSU that can ope with the following -

    3 HDDs
    1 DVD Writer
    1 Q6600
    1 8800GTS

I was initially looking at something in the 550Watt range but having just read a couple of threads similar to this I'm wondering if 550W is an overkill? I don't need to worry about future proofing as by the time I upgrade I'll probably need to upgrade the PSU as well.

Any recommendations for £50 or under?

If you streach the budget a little you can get a 430W Tagan PSU for about £55, but a 380W PSU will do the job as well for about £40. Shop around.

That Seasonic S12 430 ver 2 has gone up in price. Probably not as good value as it used to be IMO.

The CoolerMaster wouldn't be top of my list TBH. Not sure who makes them for CoolerMaster.

i would try to stretch for a corsair - hx520W should be more than sufficient for now and any upgrades, has removable cables, and 5yr warranty.
