    Xbox 360 Controller

I just got an xbox 360 wired gamepad for my pc. The problem is however, that when i plug it into my computer the sounds craps out. For instance, the random bings and bongs of windows go all crackley, and same with everything else, from itunes to in-game sounds. I start windows without the controller plugged in and everything is fine, but as soon as it is in, the sound goes crackley.

I have tried all 6 USB ports but still to no avail. Also looked in device manager to see if it was running on the same channel as something else but its not.

I am just using the standard microsoft drivers. I tried using the XBCD one but since i am running vista 32-bit, it wasn't really working out to well so just left it to the original drivers. I don't have any problems with the controller playing games (no deadzones or any buttons not working) its just that the sound bungs up.

    Any suggestions please???

Have you got an external powered USB hub that you could try? It's somehow causing interferance but I'm not sure how it could do this...

Slightly off topic but i've had my xbox 360 for about a year now, I went for the core package and then later bought xbox live, hard drive etc...

I only found out last week I can use my controller with my pc! It's fantastic, thoroughly recommend it to everyone. Been playing Transformers on it and it's great fun, even more so with a teriffic pad.

Yean I use my wireless 360 controllers on my PC, just needs a wireless adapter. Some of the games, Lost Planet, Dirt etc even have default configs for the 360 controller.

I just have an integrated sound card at the moment, not sure which one...

And yea, I've made sure that all drivers are up-to-date. I have also uninstalled them and re-installed to see if it would make a difference but it hasn't.

@katana -- I dont have an external hub that i could try although i do believe the sound is due to interference somehow..
