I bought Daewoo 19inch last weekend but it's already gone back to Scan. Maybe I was just unlucky tho. I actually quite like that Xerox monitor you've posted on previous page. One of the best looking 19incher I've ever seen. BTW I was quite surprised how small 19inch widescreen monitors are. It's just about the size when you cut bottom 1/5 of your 17inch monitor and stick that bit to the side. I'm seriously considering going for something bigger now.

I quite like the 19" WS TFT. Nice size. Anything else looks too 'overpowering' for me. I may bite the bullet and go for the Xerox. Stunning picture on my 17" DVI one and i am sure the same could be said of the VGA 19" WS one. They do make superb TFT's do Xerox.

Can anyone 'really' notice a difference in quality between a DVI and a VGA picture?

So long as it auto-sizes itself correctly I struggle to tell. It's when they don't sync to the edge of the display that they look truly horrible (as in you can't read text) - my 2405 (HTPC on the VGA) sometimes doesn't do it correctly due to my choice of desktop background, so I have to open up notepad or something, tell it to set the size again, and then close notepad. It's a faff frankly.

Ignore the 8ms you mentioned too - any new monitor out there at the moment is fast enough for games. My Dell is only rated at 16ms and yet I've only once noticed a tiny bit of ghosting. The rating's would work if all the manufacturers stuck to a standard, but as things are they can just about quote any figure they like. Ignore the ms when you're buying a TFT now - it's irrelevant.

Well guys. My TFT gives me the option of either VGA or DVI. I can see a difference between DVI and VGA, especially looking at TEXT!!!! Looks like i will be going for a DVI model then!! Must be under £150.

With regards the ACE 19" screen, my cousin tells me there was no driver CD so we can't display correct resolution at the moment as he has integrated SIS video.

I will have to install a cheapo graphics card so he can get the right resolution.

As the monitor had already been installed, I forgot to look for DVI.

Re: What are these TFT's like?

8ms is fine at thoes sort of resolutions.

Most of the cheap things are ok if you're on a budget, my main advice is make sure it's a 3year warranty although how good some of these cheap makes are like on there warranty . . .

Not going so great on my edge10 warranty atm
