new mobo, hs/f for c2d setup

Looking at getting rid of my asrock dual-vsta in favour of a new mobo

will carry over my current parts

ati x1600 pro (will upgrade this soon)
2gb Corsair ddr2 PC5300
Core 2 Duo E6600

MOBO wise im after an x38 probably Asus as thats what I have always used but don't like the probs with the p5k series as my bro has 1 and it has some weird issues.

whats the diff between the p5e and p5 maximusformula?

also as im going to have to take out the cpu is there a better cooler i should get currently on stock intel hs/f.

will use my netgear wireless card, x-fi sound so not bothered about on board wi-fi or sound.

will not be using water cooling.
