Re: Where oh where is STD-8110.ROM?

When you type in "STD-8110.ROM" in google, this was the first thread that comes up -main reason I posted here.

Back in 2008 I bought this board on clearance at Fry's for $12 if I remember right. I never was a fan of ECS at all and back then I installed a Pentium D 2.8GHz, the board kept causing my system to freeze even while in BIOS. So I swapped out the MB and didn't wanna waste my time. I kept this POS in my closet for all these years and just recently bought a refurbished P4 3.4GHz CPU with HT for $3 to try and resurrect this MB to turn it into a media server for my TV. Mission accomplished thanks only to this BIOS version which ECS doesn't even have listed on their site. Runs smooth on my SSD -there's just something about working with old parts, ya know?

I've got to admit there was a time on here when I had a real reputation for reviving the old hardware. Problem with using stuff like old P4s for media PCs is that they are unfortunately very inefficient power-wise.

That said, I've still got a couple of Athlon X2s sitting around waiting for a use - it's true that a lot of decade-old hardware is more than powerful enough for general purpose computing: if you're just browsing the web or writing emails an old 2GHz dual core is plenty fast enough.

I am fixing zombie pc's, or if you will resurrecting dead pc's. The link to 4Shared is the only fix. All links to ECS are 404ed. Used the 2006 ver. DOS flash. Installing Vista Home Premium. Mucho gracias amigos

I know it's been a year, but I've been searching high and low for this file STD-8110.ROM. Do you still have it? If so can you please send it to me. Thanks "thefutureisyours@comcast.net"

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread , but would anyone have a working link or possibly have a file of this that they would be able to send me.

ECS finally sent me the bios file, which I've linked to for anyone else who happens to still need it after all these years
