    I thought about reading it after I jammed a side panel (used the wrong head thumb screw for the lower hard disk section and broke the little tabs).

    Re: Installing PSU in Antec P182

    yet another problem...

    I'm currently putting the gfx card in the case. I've taken out the upper hard disk chamber to do this. My card is a 8800 GTX and unfortunately intrudes into the area where the upper chamber would be. I could realistically just leave the upper chamber out of the case however the card is so big and weighs so much wont it putting a lot of pressure on the motherboard and PCI-E slot? Anyone got a solution to this?

    Thanks in advance

    As long as you use both screws it'll be fine.

    Re: Installing PSU in Antec P182

    Yeah, both screws tightened well will force the card down and remove some of the load on the motherborad - my 8800GTS doesn't cause any issue, so your GTX shouldn't have any issues

    Re: Installing PSU in Antec P182

    here's some stupid questions from a first time builder...

    cpu = Corsair 520
    gfx = 8800 GTX
    case: P182

    I'm connecting the PSU to the gfx card. I've got the 2 separate cables (both labelled 'PCI-E' for numptys like me) with 6pins on one side and a 6pin+2pin connector at the other side. Are these extra 2 pin connectors (only one one end of the cable) for anything in particular? If not then does it matter whether they're at the PSU or gfx card end?

    My case has 3 internal fans each with power connectors (the ones from old IDE devices). I have a cable with my PSU which is labelled 'Fan Only' only 2 of the 4 connectors are there. If I use this cable at the top of the case for the two fans which cable do I use for the 3rd fan down at the bottom of the case?

    Confused

    Re: Installing PSU in Antec P182

    Well you need 2 x 6pin connectors for the GTX if I remember correctly. The extra 2 little pins that come off are for certain graphics cards which require 8 pin PCI-e connectors. The just 6pin side should go into the PSU the 6+2 at the graphics card end.. i'm not sure if it will make a difference though.

    Plug those fans into any molex connectors you want. Or you can connect them in a daisy chain if you take my meaning. When you plug the fan in it creates a new molex (the 4 pin connector..IDE style as you said) which you can plug the next fan into.

    Just done a build tonight..wish it was yours.. mine was annoying lol

    Re: Installing PSU in Antec P182

    As staffs mike says the 6+2 is for the gpu, the 6pin for the PSU, you'll find the actually the shape of the plug means it'll only fit either the PSU or the GPU not both.

    The fans use regular molex connnectors, daisy chaining is easiest.

    Also leave the upper harddrive chamber out, makes for better air flow, it's woth installing a fan there though, because then it blows air directly over your GPU which is desirable.
