    Exclamation New system build Help!!!!

    Hi,
I have just built my first pc
And basically it posted (phew) and installed windows vista and a couple of drivers.
I then realised that my Samsung 320gb hard drive was not appearing under my computer. i checked the post screen and also under hardware detection in vista and it says that both my 80Gb (OS) and my 320GB (all other stuff) had all been detected and were all working "fine". However, i still could not access it. Thinking it was soothing to do with my sata connections, i moved them all around and when my system posts, i am met with this message "3rd master drive is not ATAPI compatible" press F2 to continue ( i pressed this and it boots into windows but, low and behold, the 320Gb drive is still not detected.) I tried moving the sata connections back, but still same message.) Not too sure if it matters but when i go into the bios and choose boot order (somthing like that) the only three options are my dvd drive, my 80gb drive and an option for a floppy drive. (i dont have one by the way)

    Please help

sounds very strange. if i have read what you have writen right you no longer can see the drive in bios ? If so re-check all the connections and power (again)
If it does se the drive in bios then i havent used vista much but I take it you still have the disk management option in computer management. What does it say in there ??

    Re: New system build Help!!!!

Have you formatted the 320gb drive yet? It may be that you cant access it because it is an unformatted drive at the moment or something...
