    Logitech G7

Well, my G7 seems to be a bit knackered. The left mouse button often double clicks when I only want to single click, 99% sure its a hardware issue after fiddling with mouse settings in windows. Just wondering if anybody knows what the issue might be or how I can fix it?

I would replace it but I can't seem to find one anywhere on-line and I am not convinced by the revolution MX. If I can't get this sorted I will might have to go for a G5 of MX518, but I really would prefer a wireless mouse as I have not used a wired one for over 4 years.

    Re: Logitech G7

Could be worth a try I suppose, I checked the site and it said you had to return to store for warranty and i have no idea where the receipt is. Pretty sure I bought it in July 06, so its not much over a year old.

Another annoying thing is that the nice silver finish on the buttons has worn away already and there are two big smudges where my fingers rest. Do you think they will swap it for a new one?

    Re: Logitech G7

... You could get a G9, they're really good.... Well I like mine anyway. I had the same problem with a Razer Coperhead, double clicks were registered for single click, Razer we're shocking, they didn't reply to any of my requests for assistance.

    Re: Logitech G7

So I couldn't find my recipt for the G7 so I went out and bought a new on this morning. Went to a local shop where the guy sold me an AX revolution for £50 that had beenr returned. What he didn't tell me is that it seems to have the charge problem. I have managed to get it seated in the cradle so it is charging at the moment and I might get some use out of it before returning it tomorrow afternoon.

I will contact logitech about a G7 replacement tomorrow, see if I can get something sorted without the reciept. Not to sure what to do about this MX, maybe I can live with it or maybe I could take it back to the shop and get a replacement (for the same price as well dammit!, they seemingly sold me one knowing it was faulty.).

After looking on the forums it seems the G7 double click is a very common issue as is the MX charging issue. I used to think of logitech as a quality brand, my opinion may change depending on what happens next.

    Re: Logitech G7

One good thing about the MX is that I can finally use a mouse with my icemat. My G7 made a horrible scratchy noise on it that goes right through you but the MX glides over it.

    Re: Logitech G7

G7 is 5 year warranty iirc

G7 was not in production 5 years ago, they cannot refuse warranty on a G7 based on this, as proven by myself when i had mine replaced.

fill in the online RMA and thats all you need do.

in the notes tell them you have tried it with and without software on your home pc, your laptop, and as a final test you tried it on a 3rd machine with and without software, it saves the pain of going through there 10 point check list they read from the screen for idiots.

    them being the idiots..

Oh, also forgot to add I took my MX back to the shop and had to take a G9 as they didn't have any MX's in. I have to say I am quite impressed but not sure which I will keep once my G7 comes back as the G7 is wireless and far prettier. At the moment I am leaning towards selling the G7.

    Re: Logitech G7

snap the dongle and send a pic of that explaining you didnt fancy attacking the mouse with a hammer incase you got hurt

i am amazed they still ask that, they always ask me to send something back to make it unusable, like the dongle as its tuned to the mouse and that one only.
