Well, I was playing with my laptop all last night. I installed Vista Ultimate x64 on it! 3 x partitions - Vista x64 (100gb), D:\ drive (130gb) and 2gb for MediaDirect! Little bit of a pain with the drivers cd not having the x64 drivers, but I found them eventually. Also, the finger print reader is not supported by Vista x64 - but not bothered about that!

I love this laptop... amazing, highly recommend, especially with the current savings dell are offering - £300 off (including delivery).

    Excellent and very happy

I wouldn't have any use for it anyway as I don't password protect my pc/laptop, so that it just boots straight into windows... pain in the bum having to enter password or swipe your finger, especially if it is naaaaaaaaff.

You haven't found a vista x64 driver for it have you?

Also, do you have a link to a x64 driver for the touchpad?

Havn't tinkered with x64 yet, it's on the list on things to do though.

Best place to ask is probably here
Notebook Forums and Laptop Discussion - Powered by vBulletin

There is a dell section somewhere in the middle.

Does the remote work with media centre?
That's what I was looking at laptops for. I decided to buy a Vostro 1400:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T7250 (2.00 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2-cache)
Genuine Windows Vista® Business - English
14.1" Wide Screen WXGA truelife (1280x800) TFT Display
    2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x1024)
    160GB (5400RPM) SATA Hard Drive
    128MB nVidia® GeForce® 8400M GS with 90 watt AC adapter
Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Drive including Software
    Primary 9-cell Lithium-Ion Battery (85 WHr)

£486.45 all in, delivery could take 4 weeks though.

That is an excellent spec at a cheap price...

    Re: Dell XPS M1330

I've been looking for a thread about the xps m1330 for a while so I hope that even though I'm bumping this thread from ages ago, you will be kind enough to bear with me.

I have a really silly question - probably - I ordered it with the white-LED display with truelife and er... well I can't see it mentioned anyhere in the computer spec on the laptop and I can't tell if it's the right one or not.

Is there a way I can be sure? Any help you can offer would be appreciated muchly.

It will list the screen in the paperwork that comes with the laptop which shows the full spec.
