Hear ye, Hear ye! (case question)

Guys,
right, who's feeling knowledgeable about cases?
I currently have a thermaltake Tsunami with a window.
I used tohave loads of LEDS and stuff in the case.
Now, however, I do not. And I need a smaller case.
the Tsunami is 50 cm long/ deep.

Ideally, I could do with a good case between 30 - 40 cm deep/long.
With good sound proof qualities
Storage for 3 or more CD/ DVD bays
3 HD bays

Is there such a thing? It can be quite tall, that's not a problem. And it has to accomodate an Accelero S1, so it might have to be fairly wide, but for the time being, depth/ length is the main thing.

Any suggestions gratefully accepted. A "thanks" vote to the winner

I can understand your problem but might struggle to solve it.

This case is 37/38cm deep


you can see how close the drive bays get to the PSU so it isn't really going to get much smaller in depth if it's a conventional tower.

I can't think of any proper tower or even midi towers that might suit. Antec midi's get close at 42cm if thats any use.

Yeah just to clarify the case Mike had a picture of is a Silverstone TJ-08 and doesn't fit your needs in terms of hard drive and optical bay space.

Antec wise if you want sound proofing then the Sonata III and the Solo both have sound absorbing panels the Solo comes in 3 flavours Solo (just the case), Sonata Designer (different colour trim (blue) on the bezel with a 500W PSU) and the Sonata Plus 550 (Different colour trim bezel (Orange) again and a 550W modular PSU). The Solo cases are 46.8cm deep the Sonata III is 46.3cm, perhaps still a bit deep.

An alternative could be a desktop case if that could fit? They tend to be shallower than towers as they position drive bays etc is different places.

Also looking at scan quickly I noticed this

Some of the other Coolermaster cases are also quite short.

Also noticed that desktop cases only seem to have 2 optical bays.

Yeah I guessed that but didn't want people thinking that was the Antec NSK**** and then getting a shock when it didn't look like that inside

Hijacks thread

As an aside (mainly to Mike) will hopefully be re-cabling my TJ-08 tomorrow if my new Ultima arrives from Scan... have some cunning plans for cable management for the hard drives so hopefully will be nice and tidy when I'm finished. Oh and I got a new Northbridge cooler (HR-05 IFX) ... its going to be a wall of Thermalright metal Now all I need to do is fit it all in and find some way of routing the temperature sensors from my fan controller so they look neat... this could take some time.
