    MoBo Test

    Here's a quick test.

I'm looking for a new motherboard for my daughter.
The requirements are, as super performance is not applicable here:

    1. Intel socket 775....as she currently has a P4 HT 3.2GHz
    2. PCIe slot...... as I will be giving her one of my X1950 PRO's
    3. IDE sockets X2..... so I can use her existing 2 hard drives as well as the 2 ROMS.
    4. Memory not bothered about DDR (currently has) or DDR2 (can give her some of mine)

Does any one know of a possible board still available. Every board I've seen only has one IDE socket which will mean buying a new HDD and reinstalling everything.

    TIA

    Re: MoBo Test

Wouldn't you have to install the OS again anyway due to the change in chipset?

EDIT: I can't find any new boards with 2x IDE, maybe check the bay?

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

    Re: MoBo Test

You're probably stuck with "downmarket" boards if you want 2 IDE sockets, e.g.

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

Ouch, except for that MSI board in s3ds's linky.
