I honestly think you will not notice any difference in noise, mine has some bent fins and it hasn't made it noisier or altered the thermal characteristics, try it !

Cave canem!
i dunno what i should do..
aesthetics aren't really that important tbh.. 'cause it's not that good looking to begin with..
i might see if these bolt type things are removeable on the top and see if i can remove these fins and straighten them out..
gives me something to do and saves a van trip (saving the planet )
I think the nuts on top are just asthetic, if you pull them off they just show the top of the heat pipes, dunno if the fins pull off them, like I said try it and see if it runs ok, if not then send it back.
Cave canem!
I have run my Q6600 at 3.1 Ghz at approx load temp of 36-37 degrees C with similar bent fins and think it's running OK. I think Blitzen uses this cooler and has temps very similar, though not sure what his CPU is running at .
Cave canem!
wouldn't call it a bad job tbh..
would've been better if i could've got the glue off the heatpipes.. and taken the fins off..
looks a lot better now
can't wait to see how well it performs thermally!
maybe do a bit of OCing..
Lol, you did that fast didn't you
I hope all goes well and there isnt too much noise from it. It's pretty much straight, so I don't see any major difference between this and a brand new one.
I could take on 28 five year old kids in a fight.
I could name 55 countries in 5 minutes.
My body makes a 58% effective human shield.
My dead body is worth £5750.
I have a 41% chance of surviving a zombie apocalypse.
Im 40% geek.
Good Job, looks almost perfect, shove it on to your cpu and stress test it using Prime 95 and see what sort of temps you get. I use everest and coretemp to check the temps.
Cave canem!
great work fixing that. gosh, that's a massive cooler... and i thought the ACF7 Pro was big
yeah, the metal's very easy to work with so i pretty much just needed to squeeze and twist a little with a pair of long-nose plyers..
the only major difference between this 1 and a brand new 1 is.. none, this is brand new
i get what you mean.. don't worry.. only major difference is a few scratches on the metal from the plyers.. and the odd small kink in the metal..
need a motherboard first
fried it last wednesday so i'm waiting for an RMA.. (wasn't my fault.. in a way)
