How About This for a Horlicks in Computer Building

Hello everyone

Recently I ask in the forum if anyone had any idea what, '5 repeated beeps,' might mean? I did look in my copy 'PC Reconfiguration Handbook,' which said this particular signal was for a CPU failure, I also found a site on the net which confirmed this; so a new computer was required, incidentally for my wife.

I bought all the parts from Scan, whose service was, as usual examplary; put them together along with WinXP-Pro and numerous other software. I built it in my computer room but when I took it to my wife's hobbies room and plugged it in, guess what,: 5 repeated beeps. At that exact moment she came in, heard the beeps and said, 'My Brothers Printer always does that when I power up my machinery! Like all printers the power-plug is the same as the computer one, and I had put the printer plug to her old computer!

She is now the proud owner of two computers, but really likes the new higher spec one.

We live and learn?
