    Exclamation Re: HDD - Information?

    £200 for 300GB
You wouldn't catch me buying one, that's for sure

You can get two 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F1's for less!

So "NO... get one (or two) of those instead"

    Re: HDD - Information?

I'm with the above. £200 for a 300Gb raptor just isn't worth the money to me at all.

Some high end, large capacity/buffer drives would be where my money went. Check out the 640Gb WD drive if you want speed and capacity without a silly price tag.

    Re: HDD - Information?

If I had the money to throw away I'd love a velociRaptor but as above really, you can get a lot more storage and good speeds for far more sensible money.

    someone reccomending deathstars

@OP you can't really go wrong with WD aaks's, lots of people use these drives either that or get 2 samsung f1's and wack them in RAID 0.

The VellociRaptor isn't your run of the mill high storage HDD, it's more like getting a Ferrari instead of a minibus.

Maybe it's the HDD for men in their 50's having a mid-life crisis.
