Sounds really good m8
Is that the IceQ version of the HIS HD3870? Their IceQ range is really good. Silent and more effective than standard coolers which allows for better overclocking and longer life expectancy.
Other than that you have some fine choices there
good choices
remember ythat you'll need an O/S, and i would reccomend an aftermarket cooler such as the scythe mine or TRU120E as the q6600 o/c's very very
if it were my money i would swap the maxtor HDD for a samsung f1 or a WD aaks as IMHO they are alot better drives
the case isn't my cup of tea but some people like it
for 8GB of RAM you'll need a 64bit O/S such as Vista ultimate 64
if you wait till next month or so, then there are some more GFX cards being thrown out into the market, so prices should drop a little bit
good PSU although i am hearing very good things about enermax units at the minute so i might be tempted to have a look at those
yes it is their version, the ICEQ 3 in fact
I am also putting 2 x Sony 20 x DVD Writer's to complete the setup.
You don't need 8GB of ram unless you are planning to do very heavy ram intensive stuff with the computer...
At the time of pruchase, the price was too good to say no - less that 80 quid for Corsair Life time warranty Ram!
SWEET! I love those cards As Tak says some new cards are out soon so the price on that is likely to drop pretty soon so if its possible wait a few weeks
Don't blame you m8. That's an excellent price! It will serve well in the future as applications and games continue to require more and more RAM.
I just paid £50 for 2Gb Crucial Ballistix PC8500(1066Mhz) which I though was reasonable. It will allow me to overclock further when I can afford the second pair because right now my 2Gb Corsair set is at its absolute maximum clock.
