    Re: Upgrade advice

I would be tempted with one of the asus p45 boards which model depending on what extras you need (Asus P5Q Intel P45 my opinion this one is best) . Have found the ASUS Express Gate which allows very quick boot into a linux system to check internet emails etc very useful. Also i would double check power supply i would go for the Be quiet dark power 650w gets good reviews. dont think 500w will be enough for your new system.

500W is more than enough... You read the hexus HD4870X2 review? A QX9650 with 4Gb Corsiar RAM and HD4870X2 only pulled 366W... that's 366W for the entire system not the GFX alone.

People always over estimate power requirements. 90% of computers don't require more than 500W.
