Yup, telephone call to an 0844 number, bonus is that they dont keep you long at all. Ask it first thing though Chances are they are cheap and nasty, but for a quid a piece, I'm happy

I bought an excellent screwdriver kit by Jackly. I saw the exact same pack from Maplins but is made by Rolson, £9.99 HERE. they did have it for half price not too long ago.
Includes a long tweezer and the screwdriver tip is magetised.

, youll be forever getting caught on things...
just turn the plug off and plug the power cable in, and just tap the bare metal of the case every so often... thats all i do... i tried using an antistatic wristband (was free ) and just got pee'd off with it cos it just getis in the way and makes life harder..Anti Static Wristband (Purchased)
useful, but you don't need it for the actual build itself.. it's just handy to get dust out of heatsinks and biscuit out of keyboards after periods of timeCanned Air
yup, you need a screwdriver... thats about it TBHToolkit (Purchased) -Recieving 2 computer toolkits from trial magazine subscriptions including tweezers, magnetic screwdriver, socket set, pliers-
handy for cable tidying as they are easier than normal ones if you keep going in and out rearranging things.Velcro cable ties. (From Home bargains)
why?, unless your doing it in the dark then there should be ample light (just take both sidepanelks off to get a bit of under lightingLED torch. (Purchased)
what for?Rubber and Cardboard Washers
just use the tip of a screwdriver and coax anything that you drop out, unless your going to be dropping metal into other nooks and crannies... (but lets not go there )Flexible Telescopic Magnet.
you can get away with just using kitchen rollLint Free Cloth
handy for re-seating things and such... i use Arcticlean... it smells of lemoney goodnessIsopropyl Alcohol (From Chemist)
Lol, I must've put cotton by mistake, I know what I mean, I used to have a pair of heat-proof gloves for working in kilns with really good flexibility, I would use somethig like that or basic latex disposables for working with electronics cause my sweaty palms lol
The thin rubber/elastic washers are for case and drive screws, so I don't damage paint, the thin cardboard washers are for the HS and mobo screws to prevent scratching those surfaces.
Pretty much everything I have i'll be making a little kit out of, as I work on family PCs when asked, so I could do with everything just incase.
P:S Homebargains was a great place for cheap Velcro cable ties and I got an anti-static elastic head brush in with what i think might be a lint free cloth in with an LCD cleaner kit for a quid.

What about that wierd yellow grabbing thingy that once you see you can't stop grabbing things with ??
Don't worry, i know what i'm talking about...heres a picture to avoid confusion
Got a big one of those, and saying that, we got a big 'magnet on a stick' thinking about it Aswell as god knows how many toolboxes full of tools Saying that though, I still need my own.
Whats that called and how much are they? If they're cheap I'll probably get one just in case

i love you prissy girls with your pc kit, sure surgical long handle scissr style tweezers are very nifly , but really it depends how many dozen you make every month
Yeah, it does, but i'm not in that line of work you nub-stick
So therfor, being my first build, I don't want to cock up by forgetting anything silly.
If people wold pay me to build them pcs, i'm sure i'd get good at it, but tbh, my girlfriends cousin had a friend, all singing all dancing computer tech who reckoned he could could fix anything, considering he worked in a repair/build shop for a year, we trusted him. In the end I had figured out, using common sense how to diagnose the problem in the end because his idea of a repair was using a screwdriver to rip up the processor off the cooler, flinging the processor at high velocity into the mobo nearly wrecking the lot. The problem in the end was the PSU.
So experience is alot yeah, but what would you choose? Experience in the hands of a complete raving idiot, or a newbie with lots of information, other relative experience and all the right tools. I know what i'd choose
Therefor, I'm covering my bases...
Now, any constructive advice?
