Both look like awesome mice. What about the MX518 from Logitech?

That would be a much better option. You can at least go below 800dpi with that mouse which I personally like for sniping lol

Clearly you haven't tried anything else then. I have, and the MS mouse is just not in the same league as the Logitech's already recommended.

Well I have got both a MS HABU and the Logitech G5, but the two mice MoonKnight picked are around £15, so for a "temporary replacement" the MS Intelli Optical Mouse is a good buy for only £10!

    Re: scan gaming mouse

Imo the MX518 is well worth the extra £7 just as some Razer Gaming mouse is more than well worth the extra £30 ... it really all depends on your budget and how hardcore of a gamer are you.
The ones you linked seem very good also (tho I would go for the Logitech anytime for £7 more) and as stated before even a MS mouse will do fine for a shorter period of time.
It's all up to you and if you really want to find out more about gaming mices ...

    Re: scan gaming mouse

My point is that the MX518 is worth more then the £7 difference to the MS Intellimouse. It's far superior. It's more accurate, more comfortable and is more usable, both in general use and gaming. It's like the difference between a C2D and a Celeron.

    Re: scan gaming mouse

Well it's all down to preference I guess.

I actually until very recently used a 5 year old logitech oem optical mouse. They cost about £4 and I was far better at FPS games with that than the logitech G5 So much better in fact it was litterally the difference between the top 3 on a CS:S server and the bottom 3. Sadly I dropped it in such a way the left button wouldn't work properly.. I was heart broken lol

So I can see where he is coming from, but the adjustable DPI is a god send in most games.

Personally I actually prefer razor mice but for the money the MX518 is compelling.
