i need to get on the internet, but have a problem...

i need to get on the internet to register crysis warhead to be able to play it and to get some stuff off a friends steam account, but... my granddad is on AOL and my computer wont install the driver for the modem and there doesnt seem to be a socket on the back of the computer that will take a phone line. im not going to be home for at least another 30 days and id rather not wait that long to play crysis warhead or my friends steam stuff.
so is there any other way i can get on the internet? like buying a new modem or wireless router? although my budget is probably about £10

plug the modem in, open device manager, find the modem in there (should have a yellow ?)

then update the driver and tell it to look on the cd ?

tryed that but just got a message saying "the driver could not be installed"

Ditch AOL go to BE internet apparently they are good

Complain to the game publisher that you do not want to have to connect to the internet to play the game. Steam don't seem to understand the concept of people not having an internet connection.

you can play steam games without an internet connection, you just need the connection to download them (prety sure thats right). its crysis warhead that you have to register online to be able to play

anyway... its too late now, just going to wait till i get home for 1/2 term...

you could download a cracked exe for crysis warhead. that way you would not need to activate it.

probably not, but its not his im going to be playing it on, i just needed his to get mine onto the internet

anyway it doesnt realy matter any more as i have soo little spare time now my hockey season has properly started, have the school 1sts sessions, my club's mens 1st XI sessions and district U18 trials leaving me with next to no time to myself
