Loving the decals.. And there was me thinking the P182 was a subtle case that could fit into any office environment quite happily

That's a pretty sweet looking setup!
Sorry about posting the mini P180 by mistake, I read that it only shaves a few inches off the height (so is still a monster) but is of course mATX only.

    Re: Build first PC

The CM590 looks great (expacialy with the liquid cooling in it), but no e-SATA port on the front panel (which I would quite like as it makes backups faster and easier).
Im stilll very tempted by the Antec P182 dispite it heavy price tag. Also the Antec 900 looks good (if not as quiet as the P189), and its cheaper, and got a big 200mm fan. But all three have no e-SATA port.

I personaly think that the Antec P182 looks the best (it got that amaing gun metal finsish, and has very suble looks compared to the Antec 900 (so people think that your pc is crap, then you turn it on an play Crysis and blow them away with the amazing graphics)). Also the P182 modular structure is great (I think, but this may not be true in the real world).

However before I go and buy the P182, does anyone realy thing the P182 is a complete waste of money (yes, I prepared to spend and extra £20 just to get something that looks good).

    Re: Build first PC

i wouldnt say its a waste of money because its a fantastic case in near enough every way. Its not as subtle as you would think though, they are massive cases and in reality they do realy stand out down to their fantastic finish.

Anoter case ewhich isnt mentioned here which i quite like is the akasa Infinity

The full range of their cases are here

Yes that 5pound off (I hate not having a pound sign on my keyboard), but P&P would be at least another 10pounds, whereas with SCAN I get free P&P thanks the the awesome setup between Hexus and SCAN

    Re: Build first PC

Nah, after looking at images and reviews i'm still hooked to the Antec P182.

Its not as subtle as you would think though, they are massive cases and in reality they do realy stand out down to their fantastic finish.
When I said subtle I ment that I wasn't bright yellow, and looked like something that came with a gaming PC from PC World. Its a nice gloss gun metal black (which will sort of go with my Dell XPS M1330). It dosen't have big thing that stick out in the most inconvient places, and there are no unnecessary LED's or windows (who realy cares what the inside of a PC looks like when it can run Crysis on high??). And the fact that it's huge and make an impression is GOOD, I like that.

Also if I get the Antec P182 (which I think I will) would I be best with a modular power supply or just a standard one (either Cosair 520w (modular) or 550w (non-modular)), because the P182 was a cable storage compartment type-thing behind the motherboard tray. Has any one actual tried storing unused cable here, and what is it like ??

Ok I have thrown together a system for my budget (yes I know it 50pounds over). Every thing is up for debate, except the motherboard, it's been debated and disscused enough, And also the case because I like it and I can be moved unless some one has got a horror about how the case made you GPU over heat and exploded or somthing. If any one has got any good money saving ideas they are more than welcome, I am prepared to cut cost everywhere (except where that parts above).

P.S. It is only £836.93 with the Hexus - Scan P&P deal applied

    Yeah What Mike said!

Oh and I know you said not to mention the motherboard but I just can't resist... you could get a DFI x38 board for £2 more on today only (normally £5 more so not a huge saving!) http://www.scan.co.uk/product.aspx?ProductId=24996

Oh and a Link to the Ninja 2 for you http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=883417 bah its gone up £30 now! Still a better cooler than that Zalman though

Does the DFI come without chipset heatsinks or is it just pictured like that?

I think the DFI P45 makes more sense.. well not more sense but it's what I would buy I think.

I wouldnt really argue with that set-up. It's a good line-up. Sure some people might say X is better than Y, but it's strong, with no glaring faults. Buy it as is.
